This project, which we started on in December, 2009, aims to implement a on-line critical commentary on the Life of Apollonius of Tyana by Philostratus. Our immediate goal is to prepare a prototype, linking together the Greek text, an English translation, the editors' commentary, and a bibliography of secondary sources. We plan on marking up the documents in TEI, linking them using the tools we developed for the Spenser project, and serving them to the web using the XTF tools we used for the prototype RCLGA project. We expect to have a sample web site available by the end of January, 2010.
Prototype Web Interfaces
We just made available prototypes for a reading interface for the project. The prototypes link together a Greek text, and English translation, the editor's commentary, and a bibliography of secondary sources. The prototypes let the user select the kind of links he or she wants to see, and to navigate across those links. We build three prototypes, each of which has a slightly different way of presenting texts to the user. The prototypes are available here.
